Freely Received, Freely Give

As an EAST visiting student who is enjoying one or more of Free8Online class/es, please do consider giving toward the Student Aid fund for needy international students–some of whom are your classmates!

Your gift will open doors for more international Christian leaders to study at EAST. Upon graduation, they will return to their mission field better equipped to fulfill Christ’s Commission.

Thank you for your prayerful consideration.

Shorts: Student’s Views on Online Classes

What are EAST student’s views on online classes held last semester?

This is a pertinent question even as we begin a new academic year this month with all of our classes being held through online means. All first year classes are held online throughout the semester while the rest of classes are either online or blended. Hear what they have to say!

The video recording of three students featured above is safely done in their home during the circuit breaker period.

EAST Aleph: Welcome, New Students!

Photo by Chan Chong Hiok. Design by Tan Eng Kwang.

We welcome our new program students who have recently began their learning journey with us through EAST Aleph! How do we help new students transition well into a multicultural community of learners while physically in multiple locations due to COVID-19 restrictions? By creating multiple opportunities for interactive activities with and among the new students using online means.

The EAST Aleph two-week immersion program orientate students to the cultural and academic norms, provide spiritual and relational connections, and begin building the personal and ministry foundations for lasting transformation in their study life. For this year, online exercises are conducted to familiarise participants with effective collaborative learning and community-building platforms.

Above photo shows EAST President, Rev Dr Chan Chong Hiok, on an online Zoom session with the new students.

Welcome to Online Study at EAST!

EAST Dean of Academics warmly welcomes all students who are joining our online classes!

EAST online learning is taking place through synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities. The former which sees everyone from the same class being gathered on an online platform at the same time for a group based learning experience. The latter allows the learner to learn at his or her own pace which prepares the person to further engage at the group sessions or to complete a personal assignment.
