Critically explores theologies as expressed by Asian Christians and determines their value and place in the Asian context. Students will develop frameworks that will guide them in the task of theologizing in context.

Pre-requisites: IS 520/ TS 570 Contextualisation, or TS 560 Worldview & Biblical Decision Making

Kiem sits on a review board for medical research and a national level medical ethics committee.  She served for six years with Graduates’ Christian Fellowship.  She co-authors a commentary on the book of Matthew for the Asia Bible Commentary Series.

World Missions (Day Course)

This course introduces the exciting biblical, historical, cultural, and strategic perspectives of Christian world missions. Special emphasis is given to the expansion of Christianity, missionary methods used by key people, and lessons for today. Key subjects addressed in the course include how much of God’s global mission has been completed, how much is left to do, how it is being done, and what He wants to do through His people.

Raymond served with Cru for 15 years in the USA and Japan (Tokyo and Osaka), and in pastoral ministry among Korean-American churches for 19 years.  He and his wife, Justine Han, also served with the Distance Education program at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (USA).

Exposition of Ephesians (Evening Course)

The letter to the Ephesians is considered as one of the greatest works of the Apostle Paul that has influenced much of Christian theology, love, honour, prayer, and ethics. The student will examine the book of Ephesians to determine the author’s central message, and its theological significance and relevance to the Christian faith then and now.

Benson Goh, PhD

Benson Goh has been a full-time staff with Cru Singapore since 1996. He has served in the campus ministry for nine years, three of which he was the director of the Great Commission Training Center (GCTC). He graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in New Testament Biblical Studies in 2017.

Leadership is a passion and a calling.  A transformational servant-leader is capable of bringing about change in organisations, and individuals. This course examines the underlying theology, leadership theory, and skill set of such a leader in today’s world.

CHAN CHONG HIOK, DD

Chan Chong Hiok has served as Country Director of Cru Singapore for more than ten years, as National Campus Director and Area Team Leader for East Asia for 18 years, and President of EAST since 2011. He has an MDiv and DD (Transformational Leadership) from the International Graduate School of Leadership (Philippines).

Nelson Lo, MDiv/DMin Studies

Nelson served in the Chinese Ministry of Philippine Campus Crusade for Christ since 1991.  In 2000, he moved to East Asia, and served as a Campus Director, and later as Regional Training Director (Student-led Movement), City Director (Leader-led Movement), National Coordinator for Church Planting Network (Leader-led Movement), and Regional Leader-led Movement Director. He moved to Singapore with his Singaporean wife, Sophie, in 2011, and is now Dean of Administration at EAST.

LF569 Mental Health In Christian Ministry (3 credits)
21-30 November 2018
 (from Wednesday to the following Friday), 9.00 am-5.00 pm

This course will focus on diagnosis and treatment of the major psychopathologies. Focus will be given to using the DSM-V (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder) and the impact of culture to the understanding of mental illness.

Wilson Phang, PhD

Wilson is the founder of Ministry Personnel Care. He is using his background in crisis response, psychiatry, psychology, Biblical counseling and missiology to provide care, counsel and training to Christian workers globally. He and his wife have three grown children.
