Devotion to each other, and serve the Lord
Romans 12:10-11: “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”
Romans 12 is filled with instructions from Paul regarding Christian living. In Romans 12:9, Paul says “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.” Part of this is being devoted to each other and God.
Honor each other more than ourselves, and this selflessness will lead us to following Paul’s instructions in Romans 12. Ask yourselves, how you can out-honor your brothers and sisters in Christ around you, and that is an effective way of serving our Lord.
Am I Willing To Be a Servant?
Philippians 2:14-15 (ESV) “Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world”
Be it chores, homework, or other responsibilities, it can be incredibly difficult to do the things we are told to do. Yet here, Paul says to not just do these things, but to also do so without complaining or arguing.
