OT511 Old Testament Poetry, Wisdom, and Prophets (3 credits)
Tuesdays, 2.00 pm-5.30 pm, 17 July-17 November 2017
Perhaps, like most believers, you are not familiar with the last half of the Old Testament. This course introduces the history, culture, style of writing, background, and reasons for writing of the authors. Pre-requisite: BS510 Bible Study Methods and Hermeneutics.
Toe Set, ThM
Toe Set enjoys helping people understand the Old Testament. Over the years, he has taught various Old Testament books not only in Singapore but elsewhere in Asia to lay leaders, pastors, and full-time Christian workers.
Jeremy Chew, PhD
Jeremy is a Cru Singapore staff since 1991 and has ministered to high school and campus students. He has also led and mentored at new staff training, and coached at cross-cultural training. Jeremy and Bee with their two children have served in East Asia for five years before doing his PhD at Asbury Theological Seminary (USA). Jeremy’s greatest desire is to integrate biblical exposition with spiritual formation.

Church History 1 (Day Course)

Do you know your spiritual heritage? This course will take you through a study of Christianity from the late first century to the rise of the Enlightenment. There is special emphasis on key figures and events as well as theological developments in the Church through these centuries.
Tan Kok Choon, MCS/PhD Studies
Kok Choon has a MCS (History) from Regent College (Canada). He is pursuing his PhD studies with Andrew F Walls Centre for the Study of Asian And African Christianity at Liverpool Hope University, focused on the Life of John Sung. He is also an experienced History teacher at a local high school.

Survey, interact with, and imaginatively apply in contemporary context the major theological and scriptural doctrines relating to the Bible, God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
Pre-requisite: BS510 Bible Study Methods and Hermeneutics, TS510 Worldview and Biblical Decision Making or IS520 Contextualisation.

Worldview and Biblical Decision Making (Day Course)
TS560 Worldview and Biblical Decision Making (2 credits)
Wednesdays, 9.00 am-11.15 am, 17 July-17 November 2017
Your worldview shapes how you live even if you don’t know what it is and how it works. This course seeks to explore the big questions of life and develop the necessary categories to develop a biblical view of life to help you develop a Christian framework for moral decision making.

Defending the Faith in Asia (Day Course)
TS584/IS502 Defending the Faith in Asia (3 credits)

This class will look at some of the major Asian religions and examine questions such as “How can we know if Jesus is truly God?” “If God is good, why is there evil?” And “Is the Bible reliable?”
Jose Philip, ThM
Jose Philip is the Director for Itinerant Development with Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (Asia-Pacific). He grew up in India and became a follower of Jesus Christ at the age of fourteen. While working in the Middle East he discovered his passion of teaching and preaching the Word. As a result he moved to Singapore and completed both an MDiv in Biblical Studies and MTh at Singapore Bible College. Since graduating in 2008 he has taught in various settings and countries.
