Integral Mission and Transformational Development (Concurrent Intensive Course)

Integral Mission and Transformational Development (IS566/LF525, 3 Credits, Concurrent)

This course will examine the fundamentals of integral mission and transformational development, as well as the relationship between the two. The lessons and case studies from this course will help prepare students interested in serving cross-culturally among poor and marginalized least-reached communities.

Concurrent courses are held onsite and online simultaneously. Singapore residents who are taking the course for credit can only take the course onsite. Audit students must choose either onsite or online for the duration of the course.

GLO@EAST – Great Learning Online/Onsite with EAST Courses*

EAST is offering the regular courses free from tuition fees for audit students (i.e. not for credit or grade) as part of the GLO@EAST promotion. Registration fee of S$40 is still payable upon sign–up to confirm your place at the class of your choice. Credit students will have to pay registration and tuition fees.

The following courses are offered as part of the GLO@EAST promotion. All courses listed (except intensive and Partners in Ministry classes) are for the semester of 10 January-13 May 2022. Registration deadline is Friday, 31 December 2021.

World Missions (Concurrent Day Course)

World Missions (IS510, 2 Credits, Concurrent)
11 January – 10 May 2022, Wednesdays, 9.00 am-11.00 am

This course introduces the exciting biblical, historical, cultural, and strategic perspectives of Christian world missions. Special emphasis is given to the expansion of Christianity, missionary methods used by key people, and lessons for today. Key subjects addressed in the course include how much of God’s global mission has been completed, how much is left to do, how it is being done, and what He wants to do through His people.

Audit students are expected to complete assigned readings.

Urban Ministry (IS561, 3 Credits, Concurrent)

This course helps students discover and explore the various aspects of urban ministry in light of the rapid urbanization and globalization of the world, how the city shapes our lives as humans and as Christians, and how the church can plant churches and ministers in the city.
