The Asian context raises a wide range of challenging issues for individuals and the Church. In this context, theologically grounded and philosophically informed responses are needed in order for the Christian faith community to not only “do the right thing” but also to be a witness in the wider community. This course will provide a survey of approaches toward understanding these ethical dilemmas, how to facilitate thoughtful discussions on these issues, and how the Christian community can be more influential as salt and light in the world.
Expository Preaching 2 – Onsite Day Course

Designed to further equip students in good sermonic outlining and effective expository preaching. A variety of sermon types and their development will be covered so that students are competent to handle various types and genres of sermons. Students are expected to develop full sermon manuscripts as well as deliver a number of sermons using the principles learned in the course.
Prerequisite: LF555 Expository Preaching 1.

World Missions – Concurrent Day Course
World Missions (IS510, 2 Credits, Concurrent)

This course introduces exciting biblical, historical, cultural, and strategic perspectives of Christian world missions. Special emphasis is given to the expansion of Christianity, missionary methods used by key people and relevant lessons for today. Key topics addressed will include how much of God’s global mission has been completed, how much of it is remaining, how it is being carried out, and what He wants to do through His people. Students will learn how to be meaningfully involved in missions and to help lead a missional church.
Auditors are expected to read all required readings to maximise learning experience.
New Testament Epistles & Revelation – Onsite Day Course
New Testament Epistles & Revelation (NT511, 3 Credits, Onsite)
10 January – 12 May 2023, Tuesdays, 1.30 pm-4.30 pm
A study of each New Testament epistle (Romans through Jude) and the book of Revelation in light of their political, cultural, historical, and literary contexts. Bible study skills learnt in the prerequisite course will be applied to selected passages. Passages that are considered exegetically challenging will also be discussed. Prerequisite: BS510 Bible Study Methods and Hermeneutics.

Spiritual Life & Transformation – Concurrent Day Course
Spiritual Life & Transformation (TS532, 3 Credits, Concurrent Onsite & Online)
10 January – 12 May 2023, Tuesdays, 9.00 am-12.00 pm
This course examines God’s work of bringing people into a life-changing relationship with Himself. It also explains our identity, position, and authority in Christ, and gives biblical and practical instruction about living a holy life under the complete lordship of Jesus Christ. In addition, students will learn how to practice spiritual disciplines, resist temptation, demonic influence, and help people having spiritual conflicts find and maintain their freedom in Christ.
