Why is Jesus’ Resurrection Such a Big Deal?

Design: Blessed Ong

Jesus Christ is alive on that first Resurrection Sunday and for all time hence!

His being raised on the third day is truly a miracle. The resurrection of Jesus after his death and burial is also foundational to the Christian faith. Why is that so? There are at least five reasons why the resurrection is essential to all who believe in Christ as their Saviour and God (also see References below for more related information). These are primarily based on the Bible passage of 1 Corinthians 15:12-19.

Holy Saturday Reflection: Why Is There Suffering?

Credit: Bethesda Frankel Estate Church, 2022.

A reflection theme for Holy Saturday–the day “in-between” the eventful days of Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday: If God is indeed real, why is there death and suffering on Earth still? Consider pondering over Mr Max Jeganathan’s message as he spoke at a Good Friday Service on this universal issue of suffering. Whether one is a follower of Christ or otherwise, his message is deeply relevant to us all.

Blessed Good Friday!

Blessed Good Friday!

Good Friday is good because Jesus Christ died so that all who trust and believe in Him will have eternal life, and we no longer live for ourselves but for Him who died and was raised. Put your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour today – find out more here or here.

For all who already trust Jesus, may this Good Friday be a day to reflect on our Saviour’s indescribable love for us that led him Via Dolorosa to Calvary, where He died that death we should have died. May we then live the life He wants and wills us to live, with faith, hope and joy abiding in Him.  Because He lives, we can face tomorrow.

Blessed Good Friday to all, from all of us at EAST!

P.S. See our Holy Saturday reflective post on “Why is there suffering?

Prayer pointer 14 April 2022

“looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” – ESV Hebrews 12:2

Who do you look to in time of your trouble and need?  Who is the source of your trust?  Who is the rock, who is unchangeable yesterday, today and forever?

Praise God:

– Today we can look to Jesus, the One who is sinless, yet came to die for you and me that we may receive everlasting life.

Pray for

– God’s help to grant us humility and the grace of sacrificial spirit, that we can model Him to bless others in our community.

– EAST community to place our faith and hope in our Lord Jesu.  May He empower us to be His… vessels to share the Gospel to all nations.
