EAST 34th Anniversary & Launch of 4Twelve Academy
Commemorating EAST’s 34th Anniversary and the Launch of 4Twelve Academy
On the morning of 14 March 2026, East Asia School of Theology (EAST) community gathered on campus for a dual celebration: the school’s 34th anniversary and the soft launch of 4Twelve Academy. We are deeply grateful to our invited guests, ministry supporters, alumni, faculty, staff, and students who joined us for this momentous occasion.
The morning commenced with a time of worship led by Henry, Viron and Xinxian (EAST students), acknowledging the Lord’s hand in bringing our community together. Our President, Rev. Chan Chiong Hiok, delivered an encouraging address, revisiting the calling of EAST. He shared several new initiatives spearheaded by both the school and its alumni—graduates who have embraced the vision of developing Christ-centered leaders for the Great Commission. Currently, EAST operates extension centers in Mongolia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and China. As doors continue to open, we look forward to establishing new centers in Myanmar and Kazakhstan. We took time to pray for our school. Dr Tan Hai Meng, chairman of our Board, prayed for our faculty members and staff – that our Lord will continue to fill them with wisdom and encouragement as they teach and serve the students. Mr Patrick Low, an alumni of EAST, prayed for our students – that our Lord will encourage them in their studies and provide for all that they need.
Theology of Work – Workshop by 4Twelve Academy

If you’ve ever wondered whether your nine-to-five really matters to God. This is for you!
For years, I had what most people would call a “good job.” On paper, I’d made it. Honestly, though? It felt like a hamster wheel —turning out products for more consumerism and wondering if any of this mattered to God’s bigger purpose.
In churches, we often celebrate people in full-time ministry but treat our everyday jobs as spiritual afterthoughts. Yet, Scripture tells a different story —your daily work, whatever it is, can actually join in what God is doing in the world. In this two-hour workshop, we’ll look at what the Bible really says about work and vocation —and how to live with faithful presence in your everyday life. If you’ve ever wondered whether your nine-to-five really matters to God. This is for you. – Ms. June Chan, Theology of Work Workshop Instructor

Elijah Jia: Day of Prayer Reflection

EAST held Worldwide Day of Prayer on 24 March 2026, Wednesday. Below is a reflection by Elijah Jia, a graduating student.
Day of Prayer Reflection (Elijah Jia)
This year, I participated in the Day of Prayer, just as I did last year. At the beginning, I was shocked by the videos of war and suffering around the world. I could not hold back my tears. It felt very different from simply reading the news; I felt a deep worry for those suffering and prayed that God would save them.
I have often struggled with the command in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 to pray for all people and those in authority. However, during the event, I felt a powerful desire to pray for the world.
Inter-College Games 2026
EAST won big at Captain’s Ball this year emerging as champions and came in second for soccer at Inter-Collegiate Games (ICG) 2026. Although EAST is one of the smaller bible colleges in Singapore, we are big on our fighting spirit in sports and more. Below are two reflections by EAST international students Sainaa (Mongolia) and Chanthida (Cambodia). Have a read and be inspired by what they learned from their experiences at the recent ICG 2026.
“Hello, my name is Sainbileg (Sainaa). In June 2025, I moved to Singapore with my wife Tsoomoo, our son Samuel, and our daughter Giikhui to pursue an MA in Leadership (MALD). First and foremost, I am deeply grateful to God for East Asia School of Theology (EAST). It has been a wonderful journey studying alongside students from many different countries and learning so much from our mentors, professors and fellow students.
The Skilled Helper – Workshop by 4Twelve Academy
Would you like to be a more compassionate, effective, and skilled people-helper in your life and ministry?
The call to compassion and to care for others is one most Christians endorse. And many have a strong desire or are inclined to do so by virtue of their personality and passion. You enjoy touching others’ lives and want to give back to the community.
The needs of today’s world with its manifold mental health issues and concerns have also deepened this need for us to be people-helpers. The question then is how? How can we be compassionate as well as effective helpers? Answers to these and more are found at The Skilled Helper workshop viz
