EAST Latest Measures to Prevent Spread of COVID-19

Following latest government advisories, East Asia School of Theology (EAST) will close its premises from 7 April to 4 May 2020 which includes its Administration Office, Classrooms, and Library. Note that EAST as a graduate school remains open and operational but its premises will be closed. Please be advised of the following valid for the duration of closure.

  1. EAST staff (i.e. faculty, admin, or ministry staff) will be telecommuting from home. For school or student matters, please contact them directly via email or mobile phone during office hours.
  2. EAST classes are now conducted mostly on online platforms and henceforth will have all its classes fully online for the remaining weeks of this semester. Please contact the respective faculty for details on your online class/es.
  3. EAST physical library will be closed although access to digital books and journals are available online through the Digital Theological Library. Please email the librarian for any questions on the digital library.
  4. EAST Day of Prayer and remaining Chapel Services will now be held on online platforms by each Mentoring Group (MG), accessed individually by MG members, and led online by their respective MG leader/s (MGLs). Please contact your MGLs for details.
  5. Please be reminded that besides those who are staying with you at home, there should not be any in-person meeting with anyone, anywhere but to exclusively use online means for such meetings (e.g. WhatsApp Video, Zoom, etc.). Do wear a mask and practice safe distancing when you need to go out for essential (e.g. food) or medical services. For EAST staff or students who are in need of masks, especially internationals, please contact the Facility Manager accordingly.

Please do not attempt to call staff on their office/library phone extensions for duration of the closure as they will not be in office.

As always, let us continue to go before the LORD with expectant hearts that He will do astounding, wondrous deeds even amidst distressing circumstances as we place our hope in Christ and act wisely for such a time.
