MG Ministry Weekend Goes Online!

As Mentoring Groups (MGs) meet online in this season of safe distancing, our MGs will also leverage on online platforms this semester to reach the community during Ministry Weekend.

Ministry Weekend has been an annual time for each of our MGs to serve together in ministry over a weekend, either locally or abroad. This semester’s Ministry Weekend is unique as many areas of ministry have gone online.

Preparations have already begun, and the faculty, staff and students in our MGs have been working together over online platforms to get ready.

The EAST webinars in the coming weeks will thus be the result of our MGs’ preparation, and registration for these webinars is available through the respective webinar publicity pages on our website. See you at the webinars!

Mentoring Groups Continue Online

Mentoring Groups are a key component of our students’ learning journeys. There is much to glean from sharing life and ministry with fellow students, and from being discipled by an EAST faculty committed to journey with a Mentoring Group from matriculation to graduation.

Even as EAST classes are conducted online at this time for safe distancing, Mentoring Groups also gather online for regular sessions of fellowship, prayer and encouragement.

The spirit of journeying together in life and ministry continues as we adapt and leverage on online platforms to bridge our faculty and students together for regular Mentoring Group sessions.

Vision and Worship

We just had Chapel yesterday with our faculty, Rev Dr Raymond Song speaking about the link between the vision for our lives and our worship unto God.

If the vision we have for our lives is to honor and glorify God, we will live our lives as pleasing offering unto Him.

Romans 12:1 describes this as “to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God–this is your true and proper worship”.

The Lord Himself be our Vision and Guide, as we follow Him daily.

At EAST, Your Marriage Matters

Yes, especially for people in ministry, the health of our marriages matter. We must make the time and put in the effort to build up our spouses, and sow into our relationship with one another. This is how married couples continue growing as healthy partners in ministry.

Our faculty, Jacob and Josephine Li, are teaching the Christian Marriage course online where our married students and other couples in ministry enroll for a season of marriage-building. This course has recently been offered with the Free8Online promotion. As a result, we have a dozen couples from Canada and Singapore who have joined the course for an intentional season of building their marriage.

We praise God that the reach of this important course is now expanded through online means. Truly COVID-19 is not just a disruptor but also a teaching ministry accelerator!

Chapel Moments

As school started this month with classes conducted online, Chapel has also begun with our faculty, staff and students gathering online for a weekly time of live worship, prayer and encouragement.

Even as we have only been able to convene for Chapel through online platforms this season, we give thanks that we are still able to come together for worship and prayer, and even have short times of fellowship in online breakout rooms!
