“With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.” Ephesian 4:2, ESV.
The current pandemic has reminded us that we are called to live responsibly and to love and care for one another. Bestowed with God’s unconditional and bountiful love, we are blessed to bless.

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God”. Ephesian 5:1-2, – ESV.
To imitate God is to be Christlike in our being and doing. Nothing delights Him more than seeing His beloved children act redemptively and sacrificially like Christ did in reaching out and loving others with the gospel.

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” – Micah 6:8, ESV
Saint Augustine wrote, “Pray as though everything depended on God. Work as though everything depended on you.” Micah 6:8 is a timely reminder for us to restore relationships, to show lovingkindness, and to absolutely depend on God in such endemic times: to watch out for and help one another stay safe and healthy—physically, mentally, and spiritually.

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.” – Hebrews 10:24, ESV
As the world around us changes, so must we. Singapore’s educational system is evolving to be relevant in producing graduates who are resilient and ready to meet new challenges in a VUCA* world. Such transformative educational goal sees learners attain or exceed their potential and nurturing them to accept and love one another inclusively.
*VUCA – volative, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous.

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!” – Psalms 133:1, ESV
It was heartening and humbling to witness the recent Singapore National Day Parade 2021 celebrating 56 years of nation building. The heart-warming multimedia show and live presentations reflected the island state’s multicultural populace from various languages, races, ages, and faiths. May we continue to be found faithful in loving our neighbours and serving others as we celebrate the faithfulness of past generations of Singaporeans and current frontline personnel fighting the pandemic.
