Certificate in Christian Counselling – 기독교 상담 수료증
East Asia School of Theology & Elim Center’s
Certificate in Christian Counselling Program (in Korean)
In today’s families and churches, there is an increasing emphasis on building healthy relationships and raising children based on biblical values. Effective communication and psychological support are essential in this process. To meet these needs, professional and practical training in Christian counselling is becoming increasingly important to both family and church ministries. However, until now, it has been difficult to find a Korean-language Christian counselling program at a higher education level in Singapore. East Asia School of Theology (EAST) and Elim Center have thus partnered to establish a Christian Counselling Certificate Program designed for Christian women.
This program has been designed in alignment with the global framework of micro-credentials to ensure high educational standards while integrating biblical principles. As part of EAST’s missional commitment, the program aims to equip individuals with practical counselling skills to serve the Korean community with a Christ-centered approach, addressing emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs from a biblical perspective. Students who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate issued by EAST.
Purpose
The Certificate in Christian Counselling is a one-year program designed to equip Christian women with biblical counselling skills for more effective Christian counselling ministry in various community settings. This program aims to:
- Equip Christian women leaders, laypeople and clergy-to-be with biblical counselling skills to support individuals facing emotional, spiritual, and relational challenges.
- Integrate biblical principles and psychological/counselling insights for effective care within a Christian framework and families.
- Develop Christ-centered counselling competency for ministry in churches, workplaces, and community settings.
- Foster spiritual growth and self-awareness in participants to minister with wisdom, empathy, and biblical integrity
Target Group
The Certificate in Christian Counselling is suited for Korean-speaking Christian Women in Singapore, including clergy-to-be, ministry leaders, and missionaries seeking biblical counselling skills. It also includes lay leaders and small group facilitators involved in member care and discipleship; Christian professionals (e.g., educators, healthcare workers, social workers) who want to integrate faith-based counselling into their practice; and any believer passionate about helping others through biblical wisdom and counselling in community and family settings.
