Biography
Roland has been a full-time staff of Cru Singapore since 1974. In 1980 he had the opportunity to coordinate the first sending of campus mission teams from Singapore to the surrounding regions of East and Central Asia. God has also used him to restart the Student-Led Ministries in Hong Kong (1984-87) and Vietnam (1991-96). With the East Asia Area Office (1987-1996), his responsibilities included overseeing in 13 countries, the Student-Led Ministries (SLM), New-Staff Training (G.C.T.C.), New Life Training Centres (NLTC) for churches, Finance, and Human Resources. He was the National Team Leader of Cru Singapore from 1996-2006.
Roland has been teaching Public Speaking as an adjunct faculty at EAST since 1993. In 2006, he and his wife began to be full-time faculty with EAST. New subjects taught at EAST include Biblical Preaching, Biblical Interpretation, Christian Leadership, Leadership Development Human Resource (LDHR), and Christian Management. In his field trips, he has taught Old and New Testament Survey in Karachi, and New Testament Survey in Mongolia. He is currently working out the content for Foundations of Christian Leadership in our new curriculum.
He is married to Ying Kheng and they have a daughter, Julienne who was born in Hong Kong. He is an Elder with Bethesda Frankel Estate Church, where he and his family serve in the Youth Ministry.
