Alumni: Glimpses of Seoul Lausanne Congress 2024

Thanks to EAST alumni Guia Karla Gonzales (Team Lead), Mikeel Araña, Johanna Sampan and their team members, we get glimpses of The Fourth Lausanne Congress held in Seoul-Incheon, South Korea, 22-28 September 2024. They served as part of the Daily Highlights Video Team for the congress (see below).

Dear EAST Family,

Thank you so much for praying and supporting us during the Fourth Lausanne Congress in South Korea with the theme “Let The Church Declare And Display Christ Together” last September 22-28, 2024.

Our team was composed of Guia Gonzales (team leader), Mikeel Arana, Nevic Bolinas, Kimi Kim, my younger brother James, and myself. Our team produced the daily video highlights of the gathering; which showed different facets and cultures—and yet united as one in the Lord.

Since there were more than 5,000 participants representing 200 countries and territories in the Congress, our team was humbled with the privilege to be part of the body of Christ in serving the Church. Indeed, there’s no small task when it comes to God’s missions.

There were so many lessons that we learned but here are the top 3 that we can share:

Firstly, we need to speak more about God and less about ourselves. How many times did we put ourselves in the pedestal instead of God?

Secondly, we are all united in the one holy calling to witness to others wherever God places us. May it be in our own homes and communities or in far-flung areas overseas, we need to share the Gospel to other people.

And lastly, NEVER take for granted our freedom to worship God. A lot of participants, and even speakers, came from the persecuted churches and they shared to the congregation how they would put their lives on the line just to worship God. And they would always say “it is worth it.”
