Experience of 1st Year MA Leadership Student from Mongolia

Boggii (Oyunbolor Munkhtuvshin), 1st year MA Leadership student & her family

Hi, my name is Boggii and I am a first-year student at EAST studying MA Leadership. As a mother of three young children, the last 10 years or so have been me feeding, changing tons of diapers, cooking, cleaning and driving kids to and from school. Many nights were sleepless and days endless, where I felt hopeless and weary not just physically but spiritually as well.

Before this period began, I was a person who had a fire in my heart to be a part of fulfilling the Great Commission crusade in my country, Mongolia. Every effort and challenge felt purpose-driven towards this cause. When the fire faded, “What am I supposed to do in life?” was a curious question I thought about daily in my busy life.

During this season, I read many books about raising children, seeking ways to help myself. Later on, I prepared to be a parenting coach in order to help other mothers like me. As a part of that, I tried to study psychology. I was settled and content in my life as a mother.

But one day, God clearly spoke to me, “Go EAST”. “I want you to be trained and learn from Me there,” God said. I was shocked. “Me.. why..? I am not full-time minister, I am not a pastor, I am not…” The lists started to flow, to stop what God was talking about.

At the same time, Moses came into mind. when God called him to set Israelites free from Egypt, Moses brought forth many excuses, only to realise that God’s plan was inevitable.

I said, “Yes Lord, here I am. Send me”. I just wanted to give all my trust to Him only. I believe God’s plan is better than mine. Because of that faith, and because of God’s faithfulness, I am here at EAST now. “I want to give you rest in Me and learn from Me (Mat 11:29 NASB), so that you are able to take care of my people (John 21:16 NIV)” the Sovereign Lord said.

Now I am at EAST, with so much excitement. The EAST Aleph weeks (a two-week immersion program at the beginning of the semester) have finished and school has started. I have barely passed my first assignments. It was not easy. In the midst of the frustration, God has spoken to me and lifted me up as He talked through the Bible verse “I will be with you. I will not fail you” (Deuteronomy 31:8 NASB) at the Chapel.

I am so much thankful there are so many people who are willing to help around me – the teachers, classmates and MG sisters. Even though I am in my home country, and studying online from home, where my kids are playing around (though bothersome sometimes), I am thankful, because I am able to learn new things in the Lord for His calling while I am able take care of children at the same time. God is always so good.

Prayer requests:

  1. For my study, good wisdom and understanding.
  2. For good management on my time for studying, spending time with family and children. I am so much thankful for my super supportive husband for housework and children.
  3. Family transition for next coming years and quick adjustments for children and the whole family.
