Cru’s #1426EVERYDAY Prayer Initiative

 

Every year, Cru Singapore joins the LoveSingapore’s 40.Day Prayer focus together with many Singapore churches. For this year, Cru’s #1426EVERYDAY prayer initiative is the platform for its participation in the 40.Day Prayer. It is happening over Zoom, 1 July – 9 August 2021, Mondays to Fridays, 9.00 – 10.00 AM. It seeks to mobilise Cru/EAST staff, friends and volunteers to come together online and pray for Singapore, Cru and EAST, and one another.

The #1426EVERYDAY initiative is also an extension of the weekly #Sacred1426Prayer meetings that started last May by Cru. These prayer meetings were held weekly on Wednesdays mornings and the “1426” moniker was derived from 1 Corinthians 14:26, “What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.”

The initiative started informally from a group with less than 10 to a regular group of over 20. The National Team Leader, Mr Goh Hock Chye, Uni Cluster Team Lead, Mr Terence Koh, and National Prayer Champion, Ms Winnie Yeo (EAST alumna, GradDip, 2015) were instrumental in its inception. By May 2021, more than 58 Cru staff have participated in this prayer initiative.

As for #1426EVERYDAY prayer initiative, there is still one month to go before the Singapore’s National Day on 9 August. We encourage all EAST faculty, staff, students, alumni, and volunteers to participate in it whenever possible.
