An Open House into a New Season of Equipping

We had our first eOpen House on 17 March 2021 to extend a warm welcome to potential students around the world. For those seeking a suitable seminary for their season of equipping, it was a time of community outreach where our faculty, staff, students and alumni interacted with our guests as one school. The eOpen House was an excellent time of interaction for us and our guests, and we spent time getting to know each other and addressing queries in breakout rooms. We have had two breakout sessions: the first dealt with general admissions issues and the second looked at academic programs and disciplines. Through “live” interviews, participants heard from the President and the Dean of Academics. The EAST new campus and facilities at the Mission Hub in Joo Chiat and the student life in community were brought to life through videos shown and the popular welcome walkthrough.

We are glad that we went beyond the limitations of physical meeting spaces and travel restrictions in this time of pandemic to get acquainted with new friends from Singapore and abroad. Some 80 were in attendance, out of which about 30 prospective students came from 10 Asian countries and Singapore. Within days after the event, we have had several applying for program students and others prayerfully considering their enrolment. We praise God for His moving of hearts in response to His calling!

We trust in the Lord as we continue to obey His calling in the equipping of Christian leaders toward the vision of a “transformed Asia and the world for Christ.”
