Update from Hong Kong Alumnus

Recently, EAST News caught up with our Hong Kong Alumnus Ps David Sun who graduated from EAST in 2019 with a Master of Divinity in Intercultural Studies. Below is a short interview:

1. Being from Hong Kong, what had led you to EAST five years ago?

• I believe the Lord has led me to study at EAST in 2016.

2. How has being equipped at EAST help you in fulfilling God’s calling for your life?

• My training in EAST has helped me to be a better pastor and a more competent teacher in the Word.
• The major advantage of my training in EAST is that I am more aware and better equipped for cross-culture ministry and mission work.

3. What has been your three takeaways from the unusual year 2020?

• God is Good and Faithful for my family in turning the heart of my son back to him. This has brought great comfort and encouragement to the family.
• COVID 19 pandemic is a major turning point in the history of mankind for the 21^st century. The concept of e-church has taken off and it would become a part of the church in the future.
• The local political system and environment have changed. It is now becoming more predictable and stable. There is a need of healing and reconciliation across and within our communities.

3 Prayer Requests:

• Favor and Empowerment from the Lord to start five new ministries in the church in the next 5 years.
• Wisdom and Grace from the Lord to complete my D Min study in the next 5 years.
• Open Door and Divine Connection for our ministry in the Mainland.
