Don’t Conform. Be Transformed.

Mrs Josephine Li, EAST Partners in Ministry Faculty, shared at the last chapel service that this was how she discovered God’s will and vision for her life:

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2, ESV)

After sensing a drawing from God to go into full-time ministry, Josephine and her husband Jacob (a current EAST Resident Faculty) went through a time of seeking God for their steps going forward.

This journey turned out to be challenging, as Josephine followed the leading of God to complete her seminary program while being a full-time mother of a very young child. One of her observations was that God reveals His vision for us through His word, His people and our circumstances.

A transformation thus took place in Josephine over time as God’s vision overtook her own vision for her life. She has grown to affirm that God’s vision, in her own words, is “always more beautiful, more fulfilling, and more abundant”, as all of her experiences and challenges in life have come together into one big picture.

As a point of encouragement, Josephine shared that God’s assuring word for her throughout her journey was this: “I am with you.”

May the Lord also lead you in a journey of transformation where you will indeed discover the will of God for your life, and see that His vision for you is exceedingly beautiful.
